The legendary dog & human race is back for its jubilee 10th edition!
On 15th August 2026, get ready for the most fun and chaotic seaside adventure for dogs and their humans at Monty’s Dog Beach & Bar.
Underdog Marathon is not your typical race — it’s a celebration of the special bond between dogs and their owners, combining running, swimming, teamwork, and a whole lot of wagging tails.
Whether you’re a professional athlete or someone who just wants to have fun with your best friend, everyone is welcome to join. The only requirement? A happy, socialized dog and a willingness to get a little wet!
After the race, the fun continues with our Pup Cup Speed Eating Contest — a delicious challenge where dogs only compete to see who can finish their treat the fastest!
The contest will begin once the Underdog Marathon contestants have finished the race and had some time to relax and recover.
The registration fee is 6€ and is paid on site.
There will be two categories:
– Small Breeds
– Medium & Large Breeds
Each contestant will receive one Pup Cup. Once the contest begins, the clock is on!
Rules:
1. Wait for the start signal before your dog begins eating.
2. Let your dog eat the Pup Cup completely on their own.
3. Once your dog has finished, raise your hand while holding the empty Pup Cup.
4. The first contestant to raise their hand with a completely empty cup wins! 🥇
⚠️ IMPORTANT
🐕 A LITTLE TIP
Want to give your pup the best chance? Make sure they’re comfortable around other dogs and people, and maybe don’t give them a huge meal right before the contest.
Most importantly, come ready to have fun, cheer for the other contestants and enjoy watching your pup absolutely demolish a Pup Cup.
May the fastest tongue win! 🏆
The race starts at 7 PM, so please arrive at Monty’s 30–60 minutes before the start.
Registration fee is 15€ and is paid on site.
Head to the bar when you arrive to check in, pay the registration fee, and collect your starting number. This will give us enough time to get everyone organized before the madness begins.
Rules:
1. The owner and dog must complete the entire course together as indicated in the diagram.
2. The dog may use aids (floatie, SUP, ball, leash…)
3. You can run or swim with or without a leash.
4. Handle your dog with care – NO pulling or forcing, and use a harness if you have one.
5. Never force your dog into running, swimming or doing anything they’re uncomfortable with. Let your dog set the pace.
6. Time is recorded at the finish line only when both the dog and owner have passed through it.
7. The Underdog (first from the back) prize is awarded to the last person to cross the finish line, i.e. when the organizer determines that only 2 competitors remain to cross the finish line, a 3-minute countdown begins and the competitor who crosses the finish line last within that time wins the prize.
The race is going to be fast, fun and, let’s be honest… a little chaotic. Please keep an eye on your own safety, your dog’s safety and the safety of the other contestants!
